A bicyclist suffered severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Newark earlier today.
It happened around 12:22 p.m. near the intersection of Colonnades Place and 7th Avenue.
Police arrived and found the seriously injured male suffering a head injury after a vehicle struck him and then fled the scene.
Authorities believe the driver is occupying a red vehicle, possibly a Kia, that was observed heading towards I-280.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office was notified of the incident.
