Police in Newark is investigating the motive behind a shooting that injured a person in the city Monday evening.
Just before 9:30 p.m., officials at Beth Israel Hospital notified police that a male victim entered the emergency department suffering a bullet wound.
Police are already investigating other shots fired incidents and believe that the victim was injured in the vicinity of Avon Avenue and South 15th Street.
The suspect fired multiple rounds in the area and unknown targets before fleeing the scene.
Officers located shell casings, but no victims were found at the scene.
