The LGBTQ+ Latino Rainbow are convening their entire LGBTQ+ community in Newark and aiming to celebrate another year of freedom and rights as a community.
They invite organizations and businesses that want to be sponsors for our first Bilingual-speaking information bazaar.
It will take place on May 14 at 5:00 p.m. and will be held at 7 Wilson Avenue in Newark.
All of the community is invited to be part of this 1st meeting, seeking to inform medical services, legal services, preventive services and above all, places and businesses that are friendly to the LGBTQ+ community.
"We are disappointed that even in the 21st century, our community suffers from different circumstances that affect development in all areas," LGBTQ+ Latino Rainbow said
They want to:
- End homophobia
- End discrimination based on sexual orientation.
- Enforce the rights and freedoms not only of the LGBTQ+ community but of all vulnerable groups.
- Access to fair jobs, without fear of being fired for our sexual orientation.
- More information is requested in different languages on medical topics and services that we can access safely.
- More information on clinics and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases since there has been a considerable increase in STDs affecting the Latino community in the last decade.
- Have recreation spaces, be it arts or culture.
- Safe entertainment spaces (restaurants, bars and nightclubs)
Anyone wishing to support and promote their business as friendly to the community, they ask that you please contact them in advance.
