Police in Newark continue to investigate an afternoon bank robbery.
Officers were call to the 500 block of Bloomfield Avenue for a report of a bank robbery shortly before 2 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, two black male suspects - one of which was wearing eyeglasses - entered The Popular Community Bank and announced a robbery while the second suspect acted as the getaway driver.
Both suspects reportedly fled the scene in a four-door beige vehicle, possibly an Oldsmobile, with an undetermined amount of proceeds.
The incident remains under investigation.
