According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the theft took place around 4:37 p.m. at a home on Holland Street near Springfield Avenue.

A package that had been delivered to the victim’s residence was taken before the owner could retrieve it.

The stolen package contained tax documents, bank statements, a TSA card, and other personal information, raising concerns about potential identity theft.

Detectives are reviewing evidence and have released a description of the suspect. She was last seen wearing an olive-colored coat, brown pants, black boots, and an orange and blue multi-colored headscarf underneath a tan-colored hat.

Surveillance footage also shows the suspect carrying two additional packages, though it is unclear whether those were also stolen.

Authorities are urging the public to assist in identifying the individual responsible.
