Newark Alcohol License and Permit Renewals Extended to September 30, 2020 Due to COVID-19

Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announces that the date for renewing alcohol retail consumption or distribution licenses has been extended to Wednesday, September 30, 2020 due to the COVID-19 public health emergency.

All municipally issued alcohol licenses for the 2019-2020 term had previously been scheduled to expire on June 30th.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many licensees may be delayed in completing the steps necessary for license renewal by that date.

Thus, the extension of 90 days has been provided.

Newark licensees must complete the steps required to renew a retail alcohol license on or before September 30, 2020.

These steps are outlined on the New Jersey State Division of Alcohol and Beverage Control page of the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General website at: https://www.nj.gov/oag/abc/index.html.
