Police arrest 21-year-old Newark man wanted for an aggravated assault that occurred on April 28, 2017.
According to police, at approximately 11:25 p.m., Newark Police responded to Columbia Avenue near Plymouth Street for a report of shots fired.
Police said a male victim was shot at following a quarrel, but no injuries as a result of this incident.
Further investigation, led detectives to evidence that identified Jihad Anderson, 21, of Newark, as a suspect in this aggravated assault and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Detectives arrested Anderson yesterday without incident.
Police charged Andeson with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
