Bergen County authorities said at 2:27 a.m.on September 3, 2022, at approximately the Palisades Interstate Parkway was dispatched to a single car motor vehicle accident on the Palisades Interstate Parkway northbound in Alpine.
According to police, responding officers located a 2018 black Lincoln Navigator overturned in the center median of the highway, just north of the Alpine Lookout.
Police say the driver and only vehicle occupant, a 49-year-old male from Piermont, New York, was found deceased inside the vehicle.
An accident reconstruction was done by the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Detective Bureau with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The cause of the crash is still under investigation and the driver's identity will be released as soon as the next of kin is notified.
