Police are investigating a shooting that caused property damage but no injuries in a residential area of Newark’s North Ward early Wednesday morning.
Authorities say officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 60 block of North 11th Street at approximately 12:10 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings and evidence that bullets had struck a home.No one inside the residence was injured during the incident.
After canvassing the neighborhood, police confirmed there were no additional victims.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Investigators have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.
The Newark Police Shooting Response Team is handling the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities.
