The eighth month of the year signifies new beginnings.
It's also a time when the seasons shift, which often has an indication on our lifestyles and within the business too.
If you haven't already, now is the perfect time to do a monthly legacy meeting with your spouse, where you assess your growth in both marriage and business.
Here's why assessments matter:
Fuzzy Targets Don't Get Hit: We may have started with a clear goal at the beginning of the year or even at the beginning of the quarter, but if we're not consistently aiming at the target, it can lose its definition.
The more defined a goal is, the easier it is to make decisions that bring you closer to it.
Drifting Is Subtle: The subtlety of drifting from a goal is sneaky because we don't feel it or see it unless we assess it. Distractions abound.
A monthly assessment calls them to the carpet and realigns our focus.
We Change As Life Happens: We can't see around the corner of life. We can only plan for what we HOPE to see.
But if we live long enough, we know that uncontrollable are inevitable, but that doesn't mean we don't need a plan to respond to them.
Stay In Sync: With all of these aforementioned changes, it's easy to grow apart from your spouse. Whether you're in the same business or not, protecting the prize- marriage is critical.
Assessments help you keep the main thing the main thing.
