NJ Transit police are investigating a train strike that killed a pedestrian on tracks in Passaic County Tuesday.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 2 a.m., a NJ Transit train traveling struck and killed a pedestrian near Passaic Avenue and Van Houten Street.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
Officials reported no injuries onboard the NJ Transit train.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
