In a year marked by big wins and thrilling games, the New Jersey Lottery has announced that players won over $2 billion in prizes in 2023.
As the Lottery gears up for an even more exciting 2024, a recap of the largest prizes from the past year highlights the luck and excitement that surrounded New Jersey players.
The top prize of the year, a staggering $25.8 million, was won in the Pick-6 game.
This lucky ticket was sold at Quick Chek #113 in Point Pleasant on August 14, 2023, with the winning numbers 10, 12, 21, 30, 38, and 45.
Not far behind, the second biggest win of the year also came from Pick-6, a $7.3 million prize.
The winning ticket for this prize was sold on February 16, 2023, at Soda King in Manalapan, matching all the winning numbers: 03, 07, 17, 18, 26, and 42.
The third spot goes to a $4 million Mega Millions prize. This win was not a jackpot but was amplified by the Megaplier feature, turning a $1 million second-tier prize into $4 million.
The ticket was sold on January 31, 2023, at Metro Liquors in North Arlington.
CASH4LIFE awarded a $3.5 million prize, shared by tickets from New Jersey and Tennessee.
The New Jersey winner purchased their ticket at B & B Liquors in West Orange on April 18, 2023.
Lastly, the fifth largest prize, another Mega Millions win, was a $3 million payout. This prize was also boosted by the Megaplier feature and was won on October 6, 2023.
The ticket was purchased at Freedom News in Jersey City.
These top five wins are a testament to the excitement and life-changing opportunities offered by the New Jersey Lottery, as players across the state look forward to what 2024 has in store.
