New Brunswick Man Charged with Murdering his Neighbor

​Middlesex County authorities announced the arrest of a city man charged with the fatal stabbing of his neighbor.

According to police, Mr. Noel Rosado, 34, of New Brunswick, had been charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence following an investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.  

Police said New Brunswick patrol officers responded to 243 Hamilton Street, where they found the victim, Mr. Thomas Segun, 62, of Somerset, in a common stairwell of the building.

Police said the victim had sustained stab wounds to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The investigation determined Rosado had stabbed Segun in the shared hallway of their multi-use building.  

Police said the official cause of death is pending the results of the autopsy.

Rosado is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.
