Authorities in Morris County confirmed that a driver in a crash on Route 46 in Roxbury on Tuesday succumbed to her injuries.
According to a preliminary investigation by police, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Roxbury Police Department was dispatched to the area of Route 46 and Phillips Way on a report of a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, police revealed that a tractor-trailer was exiting the Citgo gas station onto Route 46 West.
Police say the tractor portion of the truck was entirely in the roadway at the time, and a single-occupant car traveling on Route East 46 crashed directly into the truck.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old female from Netcong, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities are in the process of notifying the victim’s next of kin.
Morris County authorities said no other vehicles were involved in the collision and no other injuries reported.
The Roxbury Police Department is investigating the incident, Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
