Emergency responders are currently on the scene of a shooting incident that left multiple people injured in Newark’s South Ward this evening.
At approximately 7:10 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 203 Seymour Avenue. Evidence was also found nearby on West Runyon.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Initial reports identified the victims as two males and one female. One of the male victims is reportedly a juvenile.
Both male victims sustained injuries to their legs, while the female was struck in the foot.
All three victims were transported to the hospital, where they are expected to recover from their injuries.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time.
