At least two people were taken to the hospital for treatment after a crash on the Garden State Parkway involving multiple vehicles Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to the area near Exit 98 on the southbound side of the Parkway shortly after 3 p.m., after a serious crash caused a flatbed truck to overturn, trapping at least one person.
The critically injured occupant of the flatbed was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. A second person also transported to the same hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Commuters should expect heavy delays after right lanes of the highway remained closed as a result 5:13 p.m., according to 511nj.org.
