In Newark's North Ward on Monday afternoon, a multi-car crash resulted in a pedestrian being struck and rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Around 3:45 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at 4th Street and Park Avenue following reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, they discovered three vehicles with varying degrees of damage, all involved in the incident.
During the crash, one of the cars struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street.
Quick action by first responders ensured that the injured pedestrian received immediate medical attention and was promptly transported to the hospital.
Thankfully, the victim is expected to survive their injuries.
As of now, the official cause of the crash is pending investigation.
Authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to this accident.
