Jefferson Police are investigating a multi-car collision that had one of the victims airlifted to the hospital suffering severe injuries on Monday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Green Pond and Bigelow roads after they received reports of a crash with injuries reported at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Emergency responders raced to the scene and found about three vehicles involved in the crash with injured victims at that location.
Two medivac helicopters were ordered to the scene to transport the victims to the hospital which included the most seriously injured female victim suffering a serious head injury according to reports.
Crews worked expeditiously to extricate the victims from the vehicle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
