Police reported no serious injuries in a multi-car crash on a highway in Newark's North Ward Saturday afternoon.
It happened around noon near the intersection of McCarter Highway and 3rd Avenue.
Police arrived and requested EMS after they found three heavily damaged vehicles just at the entrance of Route 21.
Several individuals were transported to the hospital for evaluations, but none of the injuries were reported as life-threatening.
The collision caused heavy northbound delays for drivers who needed to get onto the highway but were detoured to Passaic Street.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by Newark Police.
