A multi-alarm fire that ripped through a pizzeria in Passaic has fire officials investigating the cause.
The seven-alarm blaze happened at 684 Main Avenue shortly before 10 pm sending firefighters from several municipalities to the scene to battle the blaze.
Upon firefighters arrival, they noticed the fast moving fire had already begun extending to three buildings in downtown Passaic.
Thick smoke and raging fire filled the floors of the original fire building prompting police and firefighters to evacuate the building.
Fire began to tear through the roof as firefighters prepared a total of seven aerials to knock the fire down.
It took firefighters about three hours to bring the fire under control.
Several firefighters suffered minor injures.
