Crews in Elizabeth battled a three-alarm fire that tore through a two-family home this morning.
Firefighters responded to the 1300 block of Alina Street shortly before 9 a.m. for a fast moving fire that reportedly started in the back of the first floor and quickly spread to the second floor and the attic.
With the hot temperatures on the rise and fire shooting through the roof of the home, firefighters from Newark and Union Township were called to assist.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported. Fire was placed under control shortly after 10 a.m.
