Emergency responder and rescue crews evacuated an apartment building in Brick Township after fire broke out inside an apartment overnight.
According to a preliminary statement released by police, at approximately 10:22 p.m. Brick Township Police received multiple 911 calls for a report of a heavy smoke condition at 165 Chambers Bridge Rd. (Conway Towers).
Police say, fire and EMS responded to the scene and immediately evacuated the entire building to a nearby apartment complex.
Firefighters located a fully engulfed fire inside an apartment on the fourth floor where they began to extinguished the blaze police said.
EMS transported three victims taken to an area hospital with one suffering minor burns and smoke inhalation while doctors treated two others for cardiac conditions.
Fire officials say The Conway Towers sustained massive water damage and will temporarily remain unoccupied.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Bureau.
