A multi-alarm fire destroyed a home at in Lyndhurst.
The blaze started about 10:30 p.m. at 851 Pennsylvania Avenue where there were initial reports of at least one person unaccounted for as of midnight according to reports.
Intense fire forced firefighters to battle the flames from the outside as heavy fire tore through the roof of the single family home.
The fire took over one hour to bring under control.
Firefighters from North Arlington and Rutherford assisted at the scene.
Firef offcials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
