A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash on the NJ Turnpike in Middlesex County Saturday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the NJ Turnpike's southbound lanes near mile marker 78.6 in Milltown to investigate reports of a crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, police found an SUV and a motorcycle collided on the highway. The impact of the crash pinned the motorcyclist under the vehicle.
Emergency responders from Milltown and surrounding agencies extricated the victim from the vehicle and pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation by NJ State Police officials.
