A motorcyclist was instantly killed after crashing his bike on a road in Newark Thursday evening.
Witnesses dialed 911 after they heard what they believed was an explosion near 466 Frelinghuysen Avenue before 6:40 p.m.
Police and EMS arrived at the scene and found a severely injured man ejected from a crashed motorcycle.
The biker was immediately pronounced dead due to extensive injuries.
Police closed off Freligihuysen Avenue between the Newark Long Term Parking garage to Pink Elephant Long Term Parking for the investigation.
