Authorities are investigating a crash that involved a motorcycle and a garbage truck that resulted in fatal injuries this afternoon in Hasbrouck Heights.
According to preliminary reports, the collision occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 17 at Franklin Avenue.
Police say the truck and motorcycle crashed, causing the motorcyclist to eject from the bike.
Emergency responders performed CPR on the unidentified motorcyclist who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash caused substantial delays on the highway as police conducted the investigation.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
