Authorities in Union County are investigating a crash that involved a motorcycle that sent a man to the hospital suffering critical injuries.
The crash happened at around 1:35 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the NJ Turnpike near mile marker 102.2 in Elizabeth where emergency responders were called to the scene on reports of a crash with injuries.
Emergency responders responding to the scene reportedly located one person laying on the roadway suffering a serious leg injury according to initial reports.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where he was listed in critical condition.
A crash investigation team was called to the scene where cops closed several lanes of the highway for the investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
