Morris County Prosecutor Office has announced that their Arson and Environmental Crimes Unit has been presented with the Investigation Unit of the Year award from the New Jersey Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators.
In addition, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Supervisor Luis Goncalves received the Investigator of the Year award.
The awards were presented to MCPO unit members on March 3 at their 2022 Annual General Meeting and Training Conference in Atlantic City.
The Unit Award is presented to one New Jersey investigation unit annually, which has shown outstanding achievement through the use of professional expertise in both the criminal and civil fields of fire investigation.
The Investigator award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding achievement through the use of professional expertise in the field of fire investigation.
“The dedicated men and women of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Arson and Environmental Crimes Unit have deservedly received this recognition for exemplifying excellence in these types of investigations that require specialized, police investigational, technical and forensic skillsets in protecting our communities from such a destructive form of criminal conduct," Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.
