Police in Newark are actively searching for a gunman who opened fire in the city's Central Ward on Tuesday night.
Authorities were called to the area near 725 Martin Luther King Boulevard in response to reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings at the scene, but no injuries were reported after an extensive search for potential victims.
This incident marks the second shooting in the Central Ward this week.
On Monday, a gunman fired from a moving vehicle while students from Central High School were outside during a fire drill.
A 15-year-old male was injured but is expected to survive.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with either of these shootings.
Newark residents should note that since November 10, there have been shootings in every city ward except the Ironbound section (East Ward).
The investigations remain active.
