New Jersey State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a moped driver on a highway in Hudson County early Sunday morning.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the westbound lanes of I-280 near exit 16E in Harrison at approximately 5:10 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving injuries.
Upon arrival, crews found a motorcyclist who had been ejected from their moped and was suffering from severe injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim as the investigation remains ongoing.
Troopers closed all westbound lanes of the highway while conducting their investigation. No other injuries were reported in the incident
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash continues.
