Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Foka Parfait, 25, Montclair, on charges of aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, and possession of a weapon.
Bergen County officials said on Friday, March 24, the Saddle Brook Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged robbery and sexual assault.
Officials said The Prosecutor’s Office was informed that the suspect brandished a handgun and sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Saddle Brook Police Department revealed that Parfait sexually assaulted multiple victims while possessing a handgun on more than one occasion in Saddle Brook.
The investigation also revealed that Parfait kidnapped and sexually assaulted a separate victim in Saddle Brook on one occasion.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested Parfait and he was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
