A judge sentenced a Montclair man to 22 years in jail for racketeering and conspiracy that also included murder and heroin distribution.
According to court documents Laquan Reed, 28, received Judge Susan D. Wigenton sentenced him in a federal courtroom in Newark.
Authorities said Reed and the"Sex Money Murder" gang members tried to kill a man in a rival gang during a shootout in Newark in August of 2011.
Reed reportedly admitted to the court that he distributed more than two pounds of heroin in the Newark area.
Reed must also spend five years supervised after he is released from prison.
