A woman and young child was rushed to University Hospital this afternoon after jumping from a 5th floor window in the 500 block of Elizabeth Ave. in an attempt to flee attackers at around 3 p.m.
Several men forced their way into the apartment and began to attack a male inside when the woman grabbed the child, and jumped from the window. EMS transported both victims to University Hospital where they are undergoing surgery. The male victim is reportedly being treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital. The woman is in her mid twenties and the male child is around five-years-old
The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
