Authorities in NYC are actively searching for a homeless NJ man believed to be behind a shocking incident at the 53rd Street/Fifth Avenue subway station in New York City.

NYC Police said a 30-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was viciously pushed into an oncoming E train, resulting in severe injuries.

The attack appears to have been entirely random, according to the police, who are urgently seeking the suspect responsible.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the assailant, Mr. Sabir Jones, 39, homeless from NJ, was engaged in a disturbing conversation with himself just before the unprovoked assault.

Police say the victim was catapulted onto the subway tracks upon impact with the train. Quick-thinking "Good Samaritans" at the scene immediately came to her aid, helping her back onto the platform.

The injured woman was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition with a head injury.

In March 2021, the suspect had been reported missing and was sought by Newark Police.

At the time, RLS Media reported that Newark Police had indicated that Jones, who suffers from depression and psychosis, was last seen near 16th Avenue and South 10th Street.

He was known to frequent Newark Penn Station and panhandle on McCarter Highway.
