Newark is waking up to a cool 66 degrees this Saturday morning, with cloud cover lingering in the early hours.
As excitement builds for the Miss Puerto Rico NJ 2024 Coronation, which will take place this evening at Newark's Historic Symphony Hall, the National Weather Service predicts a day of mostly cloudy skies with occasional sunshine breaking through -a little- later in the afternoon.
On this Coronation Saturday, the humidity will rise slightly, making it feel a bit warmer than yesterday, with temperatures reaching a high near 80 degrees.
A calm morning wind will shift to a gentle southeast breeze of 5 to 7 mph.
For those attending the Miss Puerto Rico crowning event this evening, it's the perfect occasion to sport your best formal attire, as the weather will remain pleasant in Downtown Newark.
The National Weather Service indicates that rain will hold off until around 10 p.m., allowing guests to enjoy the festivities without worry.
Tonight, there's a slight chance of showers before 11 p.m., with the likelihood of thunderstorms increasing after midnight and continuing into the early morning hours.
As Newark prepares to crown six category winners from 21 contestants, the community wishes all participants luck.
RLS Media will broadcast the Miss Puerto Rico Coronation live on our website for those who can't attend in person.
