Mild Morning, Showery Evening Expected in Newark

Residents of Newark and the surrounding North Jersey area are waking up to a warm 75 degrees this Monday at 4:30 a.m., setting the stage for what's forecasted to be a generally quiet day, but with increasing cloudiness and a chance of showers towards the evening.SupportThe National Weather Service reports a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms starting after 11 a.m. today.

While the day will mostly be cloudy, temperatures are expected to reach a high near 86 degrees. Winds will be light from the southwest, shifting to the southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

As night falls, the chance of precipitation increases.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 11 p.m., with possible thunderstorms continuing between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., followed by a chance of showers early Tuesday morning. The overnight low will be around 71 degrees.

Residents are advised to enjoy the mild temperatures but keep an umbrella close by, especially during the evening hours.
