If you’re heading out this morning, be mindful of lingering hazards from Wednesday night’s powerful storm, which left a trail of debris and downed power lines across North Jersey.
While the worst of the storm has passed, some areas may still experience travel disruptions and minor cleanup efforts.
Currently, it’s a mild 54 degrees in downtown Newark, and the heavy rain has moved out.
However, weather radar is tracking some lingering precipitation across the region, though it won’t be nearly as intense as last night’s storm.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with a slight 20% chance of showers before 7 a.m. Temperatures will hover around 54 degrees, with west winds of 8 to 15 mph and gusts reaching up to 26 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to 33 degrees. Wind chill values will make it feel between 25 and 30 degrees.

With calmer conditions ahead, today will be an excellent opportunity to step outside and enjoy the milder weather—perfect for an outdoor lunch break.
Stay safe, New Jersey!
