Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department reported today that a severe accident is under investigation.
According to Middlesex officials, on Sunday, at 2:07 A.M., authorities responded to Route 1 and Wooding Avenue following the report of a crash.
Upon their arrival, authorities located two vehicles; one vehicle’s passengers sustained minor injuries.
Authorities say the other vehicle’s passengers were in critical condition and were transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
After an initial investigation, it was determined that the vehicle that caused the crash was driving northbound on Route 1.
This occurred, officials stated, when he attempted to make a U-turn at the median break for Wooding Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 1 officials said.
Officials say the investigation is active and continuing.
