Middlesex County officials announced that the Arts Institute of Middlesex County, in partnership with the County’s Division of History and Historic Preservation, transported visitors back to the Jazz Age with the "Roaring 20s Jazz Party" at East Jersey Old Town Village on Saturday, September 14.The event captured the vibrant energy of the 1920s, featuring performances by Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra and vocalist Risa Branch, who brought the era's iconic jazz sounds and styles to life, officials said.
According to officials, guests also learned how to dance to ‘20s music, including the Charleston — the defining song and dance of the 1920s created by New Brunswick’s own James P. Johnson — with guidance from The Canarsie Wobblers.
The event also featured food, beverages, vintage cars, and more, officials say.
