Middlesex County officials announced that on Sunday, December 15, Middlesex County’s 4-H Youth Development Program hosted its beloved annual Project GIFT, providing a day of joy and holiday shopping for over 110 families and 300 youth in need across the County.AdThe event featured thousands of donated gifts and additional services, including gift-wrapping, an area where parents stuffed stockings for their children, snacks and refreshments, and childcare — ensuring an enjoyable experience for all participants, Middlesex County authorities stated.  Pic

Founded in 1997, officials say, Project GIFT has become a cornerstone of community support during the holiday season.

According to Middlesex County officials, over the years, the program has distributed more than 25,000 gifts, raised over $225,000 through donations and fundraising, and engaged local teens in more than 75,000 hours of community service.

“This program embodies the spirit of generosity and community that defines Middlesex County,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios.

“Through Project GIFT, we have the privilege of spreading holiday cheer to families who need it most. We are deeply grateful to the 4-H members, advisors, and the countless County residents who have made this program a success year after year.”

“Project GIFT is one of my favorite events of the year,” said Middlesex County Commissioner Chanelle Scott McCullum, Chair of the Economic Development Committee.

“It’s heartwarming to see the joy it brings to families and the dedication of our 4-H teens, who work tirelessly to make this event happen. This is what the holiday season is all about—community, kindness, and giving.”

This year, over 75 4-H teens dedicated countless hours to planning and executing the event, from organizing donation drives to coordinating the day’s activities, County officials said.  Pic

Their commitment and hard work are a testament to the power of youth leadership and the importance of giving back.AdFor more information about Project GIFT or to support next year’s efforts, please visit http://4hprojectgift.org/
