The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force concluded a three-month investigation this week with two arrests, and the seizure of cash, two handguns and $7,100 in drugs, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
According to authorities, on Feb. 26th, officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the DEA, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Hamilton, Princeton and Trenton police, under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit, executed several search warrants in the city of Trenton.
Authorities detained Christopher Wallace and Anthony Jacobs during a motor vehicle stop of a Dodge Caravan in the area of Farragut Avenue and French Alley.
A search of Wallace produced 20 glassine packets of suspected heroin and $447.
Officers then searched Jacobs’ Garfield Avenue residence and discovered approximately 55 grams of crack cocaine, 27 Endocet pills, one OxyContin pill, approximately 30 grams of marijuana and $819 in cash.
A search of Wallace’s S. Logan Avenue address revealed numerous items used to manufacture heroin, approximately five grams of raw heroin, approximately five grams of marijuana and $3,974 in cash.
In addition, officers located two loaded handguns during a search of Wallace’s Buick. A 9mm Glock with an extended magazine was found under the front driver’s seat and a Ruger P89 9mm with an extended magazine was found under the front passenger seat.
Police said that the Ruger was found to be stolen out of Virginia.
The seized drugs have an approximate street value of $7,100.
Authorities charged Wallace, 30, with weapons and narcotic-related offenses and the prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to have him detained.
Officials charged Jacobs, 26, with narcotics offenses and was released pending future court proceedings.
Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
