The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force concluded a month-long investigation last week with one arrest and the seizure of $7,500 in cocaine.
According to authorities, at approximately 5 p.m. on June 21, the target of the investigation, Leonard Zuhlcke, was taken into custody outside of his Emory Avenue residence.
A search of the residence revealed approximately 150 grams of powder and crack cocaine in the garage, a digital scale and packaging material. The estimated street value of the seized cocaine is $7,500.
Officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Hamilton and Trenton police, under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit, assisted with the investigation.
Zuhlcke, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center.
Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
