The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, in collaboration with the Trenton Police Department, is currently probing a tragic stabbing incident that transpired on Thursday evening in Trenton, as confirmed by Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.
Shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, Trenton police received a distress call regarding an unresponsive male at the intersection of Cross Street and Kersey Alley.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim on the sidewalk, bearing multiple stab wounds.
The victim, identified as Corey Jones, 40, a resident of Trenton, was swiftly transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Regrettably, he was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
