Authorities in Mercer County are investigating a fatal shooting that took place inside a home in Trenton overnight, leaving one man dead.
According to preliminary reports, officers were dispatched to a residence on Dayton Street near Smith Street around midnight after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found an unidentified male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, but officials have not yet released details regarding the circumstances of the shooting.
No arrests have been made, and authorities continue to search for a suspect.
