Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, announced that there was a $1,000,000 winning Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey that matched the five white balls for the Friday, April 22 drawing.
The second-prizewinning ticket was sold at Milton’s Liquors, 223 Morris Avenue, Springfield in Union County.
If that ticket had been purchased with the Megaplier option it would have increased the prize to $5,000,000.
In addition, there were four third-tier prizewinning tickets sold that matched the four white balls and the Gold Mega Ball winning $5,000 each. One of those tickets was purchased with the Megaplier option making it worth $25,000.
That ticket was purchased at Hudson Bayonne Lanes, 1 Garfield Ave., Jersey City in Hudson County.
The other winning tickets were purchased at the following locations:
* Atlantic County: Blooms Liquor Store, 6500 Ventnor Ave., Ventnor,
* Hudson County: Universal Liquors, 2117 Bergenline Ave., Union City, and
* Passaic County: Field Liquor, 1006 Route 46 West, Clifton.
Moreover, 22 other players purchased tickets that matched the four white balls winning a $500 prize; Four of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying them by five to $2,500 each.
Furthermore, 73,539 other New Jersey players took home $152,085 in prizes ranging from $1 to $250, according to Hedinger.
"Congratulations to the lottery winners and to the retailers that sold the winning tickets,” said Hedinger. “For selling the winning tickets, the retailers have become many more Lottery ‘lucky locations’ overnight.”
The winning numbers for the Friday, April 22 drawing were: 02, 19, 21, 42 and 60. The Gold Mega Ball was 13, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 05.
The Mega Millions jackpot rolls to $108,000,000 for the next drawing which will be held Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 pm. Powerball and Mega Millions drawings can be seen on WABC TV stations.
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 participating jurisdictions.
Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
