Firefighters in several municipalities in Morris County battled an early morning fire that tore through several stores in a strip mall in Parsippany Toy-Hills on Tuesday.
According to on-the-scene reports from Reporter Frank Cahill from the Parsippany Focus, massive flames ripped through the Greenhills Shopping Plaza located in the 100 block of Parsippany Plaza around 1 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire inside Joseph's Pizzeria, with the structure's walls beginning to collapse.
Firefighters stretched multiple lines to bring the blaze under control but stuck as many as three alarms for manpower as flames pushed firefighters to a defensive battle.
As of 3:30 a.m., crews gained the upper hand but remained on the scene to extinguish stubborn flames and several hotspots.
Officials reported no injuries during their initial search of the property, and the cause is under investigation.
