In Maplewood, a routine motor vehicle stop for a minor traffic offense on January 3 escalated into a significant arrest by Officers Alexander and Perone.
During the stop, police say they discovered that the passenger, 33-year-old Mr. Macho Robinson from Newark, had outstanding warrants.
According to Maplewood Police, Robinson was wanted in Essex County for weapons-related charges and also had a traffic warrant from South Orange.
As a result of the stop, Maplewood Police Officers charged Robinson with Obstruction, Resisting Arrest, and Hindering Apprehension.
These charges were added to his existing warrants, intensifying the legal consequences he faces.
Following the arrest, Robinson was transported to County Jail.
The Maplewood Police Department's diligence in this matter has led to the arrest of an individual wanted on serious charges.
