Newark Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the West Ward, leaving one man seriously injured.
The incident took place around 5:09 p.m. yesterday on the 400 block of South 18th Street, according to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
Responding officers quickly located the victim, who had suffered gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to University Hospital, where he is now reported to be in stable condition.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under thorough investigation as authorities work to determine the motive and identify any suspects involved.
The Newark Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
