Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a package theft that occurred on Wednesday, July 31.
According to the report, the incident took place at approximately 1:32 p.m. on Rutgers Drive near South Orange Avenue.
The suspect allegedly stole a group of packages delivered to a residence, opening one of the packages and leaving the empty box and bubble wrap near a neighbor’s door.
Notably, the vendor had replaced this particular package due to a previous theft reported by the victim.
The suspect is described as a thin Black male, wearing a white tank top, black pants with red graphics, white sneakers, and a black backpack.
