FREEHOLD – Law enforcement officials are seeking a male suspect in connection with an armed bank robbery in Marlboro on Sunday evening, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
According to a statement released by police, on Sunday evening, March 31, at approximately 7:12 p.m., the Marlboro Police Department received a 911 call from an ATM service technician who had just been robbed at
gunpoint from the Chase Manhattan Bank at 146 Route 9 North.
According to the statement, police say the male suspect stole a
significant amount of cash during the heist.
Video footage from local businesses shows the suspect exiting a
black Mercedes SUV from a business on the southbound side of Route 9 and walking across the highway towards the bank.
The investigation is active and ongoing at this time according to police.
